Our Ministries
Check out the ways that StepUP Ministries is meeting the needs of families in our community.
Clothing
Our group plans to help children in the foster care program with new clothing, as well as providing other impoverished children with clothing, diapers, and other resources whose needs are not able to be met by SD Dept of Social Services.
Housing
Another area of ministry is to provide additional resources in the community to assist the homeless, by assisting existing agencies, such as Journey Home, Salvation Army and community churches who now are renting hotel rooms, by providing alternative housing for families in need. In this way, we will partner with these agencies to enable them to aid more people in other ways.
Life Skills
Additional goals are to assist our clients with life skills, including budgeting skills and well as cooking, cleaning, and shopping skills to save money. Another skill is to increase empathy by giving back to the community. One area we will work extensively in is getting helping people get proper credentials to be able to get a job and a more permanent place to live.
